Responsibilities
Design graphics from idea conception through final production for AAP communications efforts utilized in websites, infographics, tip sheets, social media, slide deck presentations, and images.
Incorporate changes into new and revised graphics as directed. Route drafts and solicit feedback from AAP expert groups and/or staff teams, as needed.
Edit photos, layouts, and other grant materials to ensure compliance with all AAP and federal technical specifications and requirements, including 508 compliance and others.
Ensure all graphics adhere to AAP brand standards and meet AAP communications goals and objectives as well as those of grants and sponsor activities.
Manage AAP.org and HealthyChildren.org content management system image and graphic libraries and support website metadata strategies for graphics and images.

Required
At least two years’ related experience in print and web graphic design experience, including working within established brand guidelines and standards and with editorial processes (editing, copyediting). Knowledge of print file preparation and handoff required. Experience working with health-related content and bilingual design projects (English and Spanish) a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in digital/web graphic design or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Advanced technical acumen essential with proficiency in graphic design software/Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and MS Office and the ability to learn and apply new technologies; understanding of modern web design principles and experience with virtual meeting platforms (e.g. WebEx, Teams), document collaboration sites (e.g., SharePoint), and content management systems (e.g., EpiServer) preferred.
Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required.
Preferred
Experience working with health-related content and bilingual design projects (English and Spanish) a plus.
