Responsibilities

Serve as a scrum team’s technical leader; driving the quality, scalability, reliability, and speed to market of Forward’s third-party integration infrastructure

Improve the quality of software applications through technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship

Lead cross-team planning activities for complex features spanning multiple scrum teams

Champion technical excellence within the engineering organization

Maintain a high level of engagement across multiple scrum teams, promptly address bugs and incidents, and consistently be accessible during core hours

Improve the efficiency of engineers through technical guidance and mentorship

Act as SME on Forward’s software ecosystem

Required

Significant experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and sponsorship

Significant expertise in designing and implementing complex systems across multiple software applications and/or languages (typically Golang, Python, Java, etc)

Exhibit maturity and ownership in all aspects of work

Excellent written and verbal communication

Significant ability to influence others

Demonstrated project management skills

Demonstrated passion for learning and self-development within the software industry

Typically has several years of experience in agile software development, including expertise in a modern programming language (Golang, Python, Java, Typescript)

Typically has a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or additional relevant experience
