Responsibilities

Develops purchasing programs for the corporation.
Develops purchasing arrangements with vendors and suppliers.
Provides pricing quotes, completes purchase orders, and processes requisitions for clients.
Develops and investigates supply sources, and issues requests for quotations, proposals, or bids for those items not covered by any existing purchasing arrangement.
Resolves outstanding issues, complies with vendor requests, and responds to client inquiries.
Receives requisitions and checks each item for quantity, specifications, and delivery requirements.
Negotiates with vendors to ensure inventory is acquired in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Serves as a liaison to vendors and suppliers.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Negotiates with vendors to ensure inventory is acquired in a cost-effective and timely manner
Knowledge of working with vendors
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
Knowledge of supply chain or procurement functions and procedures
Knowledge of vendor relations
Knowledge of project management methods and techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g. executive, management, individual contributors)
Excellent problem solving, team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others
Proficiency in evaluating the performance capabilities of subordinates as well as counsel subordinates in development and/or corrective discipline
Proficiency in making projections of future expenses based on analysis of cost effectiveness of past expenditures
Proficiency to operate independently
