Responsibilities
As part of the Production organization, and deployed into one or more product groups (Batter, Propulsion, Composites, and/or Integration) you will act as an Equipment Engineer for a novel type of aircraft development targeting the autonomous UAM market
Become familiar with the Wisk Generation 6 Design. Improve current processes for Quality and Takt time
Design equipment and tooling for internally built components in the propulsion, battery, composites, or integration shops
Work with suppliers on ensuring Wisk standards are upheld for outsourced equipment and automation
Establish plans for preliminary acceptance tests (PAT) and final acceptance tests (FAT)
Play a key role as a designer of new equipment and automation. Be integrated with the team at the beginning of concept through deployment
Work with Manufacturing Engineers and product groups on developing a roadmap for future production automation
Help define and develop process documentation for equipment. Aid Manufacturing with creating work instructions with your equipment

Required
B.S. in a relevant engineering discipline with 5+ years of experience in design, process development, or manufacturing. Progress toward, or completion of, graduate level degrees will be considered toward experience
Demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals: structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis.
Strong communication skills, technical writing background, and understanding of vender or supplier interactions
Mechanical design and/or manufacturing experience that includes the use of interpretation of engineering design drawings
Familiarity with engineering CAD tools (NX, Catia, Solidworks), PLM (Teamcenter), and model based product definition
Understanding and implementation of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5)
Ability to work with your hands to build prototype and production level equipment while maintaining shop safety standards and best practices
This role may include up to 10% travel to supplier sites for meetings and acceptance testing
Preferred
Familiarity with Siemens tools (NX, TeamCenter, EasyPlan, Opscenter, etc.)
Experience working on certified aircraft and in a regulated environment (e.g. AS9100, FAA Part 23/25)
Automation design experience at the sub assembly level
Understanding of tool tracking methods and experience in deploying small-scale tracking systems
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six-Sigma principles
Familiar with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Any experience in equipment maintenance, controls, process development, or testing
