Responsibilities

Develop hard facing, stainless and nickel welding consumables, welding processes and test methodologies in line with market needs and industry standards
Provide product development support with a focus on technology, product development, and process improvement
Collaborate on customer sales opportunities by supporting alloy welding application solution development
Define product value propositions and assist with project completion tasks for product availability
Facilitate the development of manufacturing process capabilities for new products
Support technology transfers among Lincoln subsidiary companies as required
Establish standards, conduct evaluations of product performance, root cause analysis, and warranty resolutions
Provide task-oriented direction to Technicians and Technologists
Maintain records of work in process and document results
Assume additional responsibilities as needed to support the Company's 2025 Strategy

Required

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Welding Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry; familiarity with materials analysis techniques
Experience must include: manufacturing processes, including welding or casting; arc- welding process optimization; material property characterization techniques, including metallography, electron microscopy, and spectroscopy; and characterization of ceramic and metal powders.
Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint, as a minimum
Working understanding of Design for Six Sigma and statistical Design of Experiments methodologies
Possesses and applies both practical and fundamental understanding of various arc welding processes
Good written and verbal communication skills
Works effectively in a cross-functional team environment

Preferred

Preferred 3 years of relevant experience for Engineer II and 5 years of relevant experience for Engineer III
