Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate the development, design and permitting of multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop project timelines, maintain schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, and complete projects on schedule and within budget.
Develop calculations, engineering reports, design drawings and investigation reports using the principles of soil science, biology, and chemistry to develop solutions to environmental problems.
Research code, zoning, ordinances, and other requirements as needed to ensure project compliance.
Prepare and review engineering designs and permit applications to acquire approvals from regulatory bodies.
Collaborate with the team to develop detailed technical proposals and refine and improve internal processes.
Assess and mitigate project risks; Proactively recognize conditions and problems and develop effective solutions.
Monitor project work progress, adhering to the scope of work and communicating with key stakeholders.
Prepare reports, client communications, contract documents, etc. and consult with other internal partners as needed.
Prepare invoices, track project budgets and projections.
Present projects at public meetings/hearings, answering technical questions.
Attend client & agency meetings and industry events.
Mentor junior staff; participate in hiring of technical staff.

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited four-year college or university.
5+ years of applicable engineering experience.
Professional Engineer registration in Maryland.
Experience with stormwater management plans, erosion & sediment control design calculations, permitting and regulatory requirements in Maryland and surrounding states.
Excellent communication skills: articulate and confident with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple projects.
Strong technical competency and analytical ability with effective teamwork skills.
Ambitious and eager to grow with a strong work ethic and self-motivated mentality.
Must be able to work independently in a detailed and thorough manner.
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and other industry-specific software.
Reasonably proficient in MS Office Suite, and MS Project or equivalent project scheduling software.

Preferred

Master’s degree in engineering (Civil or Environmental) from an accredited college or university.
