Responsibilities
Assist in operating and maintaining the materials testing laboratory and overseeing company flammability compliance programs.
Offer analytical and technical expertise to support product development, including material and prototype testing.
Conduct mathematical calculations, interpret test results, analyze data, write reports, and maintain comprehensive records.
Provide guidance and training to laboratory personnel in material testing, root-cause investigations, technical evaluations, and new test methodologies.
Enhance process flow, testing accuracy, and cost reductions by maintaining and improving applicable 6σ lean programs in the laboratory.
Schedule, coordinate, and document equipment calibration and maintenance activities as required.
Fulfill other assigned duties in accordance with business needs and requirements.

Required
3-5 years of related experience in materials engineering or a related field.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and handle short-notice assignments with flexibility and efficiency.
Proficient in the use of test equipment, ASTM and AATCC testing methodologies, MS Office suite, and common laboratory software (experience with LabView is a plus).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of representing the testing laboratory in meetings, supplier visits, third-party laboratory visits, and other interactions as necessary.
Skilled in cross-functional communication and maintaining cooperative relationships with stakeholders.
Demonstrates personal conviction and a spirit of innovation, capable of working independently with minimal supervision and effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
Proficient in mathematical calculations, data analysis, and technical report writing.
Knowledgeable in the application and utilization of 6 Sigma tools and methodologies.
Possesses a team-oriented work approach, showing initiative, flexibility, and effectiveness in collaborative settings.
Preferred
Experience with LabView software.
