Responsibilities
Security Architecture Design: Support the design of a secure architecture for the Azure 2.0/vWAN deployment. Support Fannie Mae with security requirements and controls specific to the vWAN.
Risk Assessment and Threat Modeling: Conduct risk assessments and threat modeling for the new vWAN environment. Identify potential vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies.
Implementation of Security Controls: Implement security controls such as network segmentation, firewalls, and secure access policies. Configure Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups (NSGs) to protect network traffic.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure the vWAN deployment meets compliance requirements and industry standards. Implement data governance solutions using tools like Azure Purview.
Monitoring and Incident Response: Set up continuous monitoring and alerting using Azure Security Center and Azure Defender. Develop and implement an incident response plan for security events.
Securement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to ensure repeatable and secure deployments. Design the vWAN architecture with security as a core component, incorporating secure connectivity, VPN gateways, and Azure Firewall. Define access controls and identity management using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
Configuration of Security Tools: Deploy and configure Azure Defender to provide threat protection across the vWAN environment. Implement and manage Azure Purview for data declassification and governance to protect sensitive data.
Network Security Implementation: Configure secure network connectivity, including Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute, and secure VNet peering. Set up NSGs to control inbound and outbound traffic to and from virtual networks.
Data Protection: Implement data encryption for data at rest and in transit. Use Azure Key Vault to manage keys, secrets, and certificates.
Continuous Monitoring and Logging: Set up logging and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Sentinel for advanced threat detection. Ensure all logs are collected, stored securely, and analyzed for potential security incidents.
Incident Management: Develop and implement incident response procedures tailored to the vWAN environment. Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure readiness for security incidents.
Compliance and Audit: Ensure that the vWAN setup adheres to relevant compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
Automation and Scripting: Use automation tools and scripts (e.g., PowerShell, ARM templates) to enforce security configurations and deploy resources securely.

Required
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, designing platforms to support developers
Strong experience with API Security, Container Security, Azure Cloud Security
Must be well versed in general infrastructure technology and understand public and private cloud concepts such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Desktop as a Service (DaaS), and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Experience with automation to Infrastructure (IaC - Infrastructure as Code)
Experience with the Cloud, Windows/SQL Server, Application Support, PowerShell scripting, and virtualization
Experience developing, configuring, and managing cloud-based systems supporting enterprise web-based applications
Ability to manage Azure subscriptions and resources, implement and manage storage, deploy and manage virtual machines, configure and manage virtual networks, and manage identities
Experience with developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms
Preferred
Obtain or utilize certifications as part of continuous professional growth
Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloud architectures
Experience with DevOps workflows using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and others
