Responsibilities
Determining the best techniques, procedures, and/or theories as they apply to the development of equipment starters and electric motors.
Creating compliance procedures for the development of electrical/equipment starter/motor product designs.
Working with vendors to define and interpret design specifications, and to guide supplier development of products meeting desired reliability and design targets.
Analyzing product design requirements and recommending solutions.
Preparing and coordinating the release of documentation to support equipment starters/motor applications.
Working with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments.
Forecasting and scheduling work activities and defining processes for repetitive tasks.
Acting as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of equipment starters/motor products.
Traveling to visit customers, Johnson Controls’ factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needs.
Complying with Johnson Controls’ Code of Ethics and policies.
Effectively utilizing knowledge, skills, and Johnson Controls’ tools.
Collaborating with global and cross-functional teams.
Being open-minded to receive and offer constructive feedback.
Being flexible to support customers and business.

Required
B.S degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with specialization in Power Electronics - motors, starters, and drives.
Minimum 5 years of industry experience in the field of Power Electronics - Motors / Starters / Drives.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment in the United States.
Preferred
Industrial Refrigeration knowledge.
Experience with low voltage and medium voltage motor starting methods including across-the-line (ATL), soft starter, and invertor duty.
Experience in designing and/or specifying low voltage and/or medium voltage motors.
