Responsibilities
Performs data and database management duties, statistical analyses, and produces data reports.
Contributes to the generation of dissemination products such as manuscripts, reports, and presentations.
Assists in the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategies to control STD/HIV epidemic.
Identifies problems with data collection and collaborates to find solutions.
Communicates with project PIs, other Epidemiologists, and program managers.
Stays updated on best practices related to STD/HIV prevention efforts.

Required
Master’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics or a related field and one year of related experience with each of the following: design, analysis and interpretation of epidemiological based scientific studies using R, STATA or SAS.
Knowledge of epidemiologic research methodology, epidemiologic data collection procedures, epidemiologic study design, descriptive and inferential statistics.
Knowledge and experience analyzing electronic medical record data related to STI/HIV care.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the biomedical sciences and public health.
Knowledge of the objectives, scope, and functions of Federal, State and local health laws and regulations that apply to public health.
Knowledge of interviewing and investigating techniques used in the epidemiology of human disease, of the methods and practices for the control of human disease and of the causes and sources of contagion of communicable human disease.
Ability to apply advanced epidemiologic principles and methods in analysis of health data.
Ability to direct epidemiologic investigations or studies.
Ability to understand technical and administrative problems and constraints involved in formulating disease control or prevention recommendations.
Ability to evaluate and interpret epidemiological and statistical data.
Ability to prepare and present reports and recommendations clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to make independent judgments and to act on decisions on a daily basis without direction.
Ability to prioritize own work as needed. Ability to work with flexibility on several tasks simultaneously and to meet various concurrent deadlines.
Preferred
Experience working with Arc GIS.
Five plus years related experience.
Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
