Responsibilities
Work to improve manufacturing processes and develop new products as part of a cross-functional team
Identify, research, and support technology development for process capability improvements
Design tooling for prototyping, optimize existing production processes using SolidWorks, and collaborate with the in-house tooling manufacturing team
Advise customers for design for manufacturability and material selection
Prototype concepts and run engineering evaluations to determine feasibility
Collaborate with internal and external customers to determine detailed product requirements
Provide engineering support to improve and maintain manufacturing processes on a routine basis
Run, observe, and expedite prototype shop orders
Use root cause analysis to perform hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing processes and equipment
Maintain relationships with key suppliers along with assessing and establishing new supplier relationships in conjunction with Applied Medical’s Procurement team
Plan, organize, and qualify production lines for new products
Update and develop engineering documents, such as process maps, process failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), manufacturing and quality instructions, test methods, design of experiments, drawings, and test protocols and reports

Required
1-2 years of relevant Engineering work experience
Bachelor’s degree in Polymer, Materials, Plastics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience with manufacturing equipment and injection molding processes
Experience with computer-aided design (i.e. SolidWorks), spreadsheets, scheduling programs, and word processing
Excellent technical writing
Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working knowledge of a variety of materials and mechanical designs
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Effective oral and written communication skills
Technical aptitude and detail oriented
Critical Thinking
Ability to mentor and guide other TMs
Preferred
Experience in Polymer
Experience in the medical device industry
Understanding of manufacturing and quality standards, including FDA regulations and ISO quality systems
Experience with software such as NetWeaver/Product Lifecycle Management
Experience with Minitab or other statistical analysis software
Leadership or project management experience
