Responsibilities

Performs needs assessment to GIS customers as assigned and develops solutions including modification or creation of computer-generated geographic files, utilizing GIS/CAD/GPS hardware and software, producing various maps/reports, and creating/maintaining database structures

Supervises and directs assigned staff, processes employee concerns and problems, completes employee performance appraisals

Develops ArcGIS Online web maps and applications, meets with customers to determine needs and develop implementation strategies, communicates potential solutions with supervisor

Creates specialized thematic maps for a variety of customers focusing on traffic counts, project status, utility maintenance frequency, and more

Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections, utilizes various software programs

Required

Associate's degree in survey/mapping, engineering, geography, computer science or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred supplemented by two (2) years of previous experience

Minimum three (3) years of experience in GIS applications in a supervisory position

Requires demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer and office software such as MS Word, MS Excel, and electronic mail

Ability to use highly technical computer applications, such as GIS or CAD

Ability to manage and prioritize routine, specialized and complex assignments and problems utilizing knowledge acquired through prior education, training, and experience

Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form

Ability to adapt to an evolving and continually improving environment
