Responsibilities

Hydrologic analysis of diverse flood, climatic, and meteorological conditions across the US.
Open channel 1D and 2D hydraulic analysis/modeling using steady and unsteady modeling.
Hydraulic design of drainage structures.
Preparation of engineering study reports and preliminary design concepts.
Coordination with clients and regulatory agencies.
Client and Project Management.
Short-term travel for field work involving hydraulic surveys in variable outdoor conditions.
Other duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in water resources or related field, required.
PE is required.
Ideal candidate will have 8–15 years of relevant experience. However, candidates outside of that range who meet core requirements will be considered.
Skill and experience in water resources engineering, specifically hydrology and hydraulic analyses utilizing various methods and software including HEC-HMS and two-dimensional HEC-RAS models.
Willingness and ability to travel for field work, including periodic trips up to four-days in length at project sites required.

Preferred

Master’s degree in civil engineering, preferred.
Railroad industry experience, preferred.
Skill and experience utilizing mapping and CAD drafting software including ArcGIS and MicroStation preferred.
CFM certification with a working knowledge of using FEMA regulatory models to obtain floodplain permits is a plus.
Experience with USACE Nationwide Permits and how they may impact the identification of replacement bridges and culverts is a plus.
