Responsibilities

Field sampling
Interpretation of sampling data
Cost estimating for evaluation of remedial alternatives
Preparation of sampling plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, and remedial system designs
Outdoor work and overnight travel
Preparation of health and safety plans
Regular maintenance and calibration of equipment
Supporting environmental studies in the four-state region
Being part of project teams as a project manager or support staff
Data collection in the field
Managing project budgets
Preparing detailed analysis of field data and project reports
Mentoring and training opportunities

Required

1 to 3 years of professional environmental consulting experience
Competent technical writer
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Highly motivated, customer-focused, and work well in a team environment
Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
B.S. degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or related engineering field
Educational background to be able to obtain a Professional Engineering license
Completion of 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training
Current 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training
Must be able to lift sample coolers and other equipment up to 50 pounds
Must be able to wear full-face respirator and complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing
Driving on a regular basis with a valid driver's license and good driving record
Passing a criminal background check

Preferred

Experience with remediation design or remediation project management
Previous experience at EPA Superfund sites
Experience with MS Access and cost estimating software
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EIT)
