Responsibilities
Attends project site visits to assist in defining project objectives.
Prepares engineering cost estimates and schedules.
Develops top-level documents for Electrical Physical and Protection & Control packages.
Provides guidance to junior engineers and/or designers.
Performs calculations for grounding & lightning protection, and AC/DC load studies.
Prepares equipment specifications for procurement.
Performs quality control reviews of design calculations and drawings.
Provides short-term field support during construction.
Coordinates design activities with other disciplines.
Serves as a technical advisor for the team.

Required
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
8+ years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Basic written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Professional Engineer’s License in Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
Experience with substation design for Pacific Gas & Electric.
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
