Responsibilities

Conduct reliability analyses on distribution systems on military installations.
Deliver energy resilience solutions, including carbon-free technology, to help the military move towards energy independence.
Develop a new tool for the DoD to quantify its energy resilience.
Model systems, conduct site visits, and gather information for potential resilience gaps.
Collaborate with project engineers, power systems engineers, and technical writers to share reliability engineering expertise.

Required

Experience with reliability engineering practices, such as root cause analysis or failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
Experience with medium or high voltage transmission and distribution design
Experience conducting site visits and energy infrastructure assessments at client facilities
Knowledge of power and reliability engineering industry standards, such as IEEE 3006, IEEE 493, NFPA 70 NEC, NFPA 70E, and ANSI C2 NESC
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Preferred

Experience with engineering software, including engineering design tools, such as EasyPower, SKM, or ETAP
Experience designing with energy generation technologies, including solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, geothermal, biomass, natural gas, energy storage systems, and combined heat and power (CHP)
Ability to perform electrical studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, motor starting, generator starting, and harmonics
Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics
PE License Certification in an energy-related field
