Responsibilities

Design, configure, deploy, and maintain access, distribution, and core network equipment.
Analyze logs for troubleshooting and network health assessment.
Maintain documentation of network topologies.
Support IS Security systems such as network firewalls, VPNs, and Cisco ISE network segmentation/NAC system.
Provide 24/7 problem management support for networking, security, and related software applications.
Manage Cisco wireless controllers, access points, switches, routers, firewalls, LAN, WAN, DR, and Data Center topology.
Gather requirements from stakeholders, design network solutions, research technologies/methodologies, and document specifications.
Manage multiple incidents and collaborate with third-party service providers during outages.
Conduct compliance audits, document the current environment, and manage vendors.
Operate and maintain campus and medical center communications network.

Required

Seven (7) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus three (3) years of related experience/training. Related experience: Configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Cisco Catalyst 3K, 4K and 9K switches, routers, wireless controllers and wireless access points, Cisco switch stacking.
Demonstrated thorough knowledge of professional communications and network concepts necessary to resolve issues using established parameters, creativity and independent judgment, escalating as necessary.
Thorough understanding of various network hardware platforms, network related protocols and software including understanding of OSI layer 3 protocols at a basic level and layer 2 protocols at a complex level and related technical standards critical to the operation of interconnected networks.
In-depth experience with network diagnostic and performance management tools and software.
Thorough and broad knowledge and experience working with network management systems.
Ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of a variety of functional assignments.
Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated diverse problem-solving skills.

Preferred

Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or CCIE).
Experience with Layer 2/3 access layer support and design; BGP routing, HSRP, OSPF, EIGRP, ACI, VRF’s, L2/L3 Multicast, PBR, STP, LACP, QOS, VLAN's and other high availability configurations and advanced network implementations.
Understanding of optical networking - DWDM/CWDM, Optic types and use cases
Firewall, NAT, VPN, IP-SEC configurations.
Solarwinds, Netflow, Thousand Eyes, Cisco Secure Network Analytics (Stealthwatch), Cisco DNA and other network monitoring/management tools
Experience configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Cisco ISE Trustsec and/or NAC
DHCP, DNS (Infoblox, Microsoft, etc).
Automation scripting experience
Network load balancers (Netscaler, F5, etc).
Knowledgeable in use of standard troubleshooting tools and such as ping, telnet, dig, traceroute, whois, netstat, ethercap, Wireshark, nmap, tcpdump, and misc other packet sniffers
Experience in a healthcare or other 24/7 critical service environment.
