Responsibilities
Develop and oversee comprehensive schedules for inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
Utilize advanced maintenance management systems to track and manage maintenance activities.
Regularly review and update maintenance procedures to comply with current engineering standards and requirements.
Establish effective communication protocols with maintenance staff and external vendors.
Ensure timely procurement and supply of parts and equipment.
Implement sophisticated data collection systems to monitor railcar performance.
Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Coordinate maintenance activities with transportation, engineering, safety, and quality departments.
Provide engineering guidance and support to railcar technicians and other maintenance personnel.
Prepare and submit detailed engineering reports and maintenance activity reports to the MDOT MTA Contract Monitor.
Stay informed about the latest industry trends and best practices in railcar maintenance engineering.
Instruct employees on proper maintenance activities using established engineering procedures and training materials.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field. Four (4) years’ experience in railcar maintenance and maintenance management can be substituted for the degree.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in metro railcar maintenance engineering.
Extensive knowledge of railcar maintenance procedures and best practices.
Experience with advanced maintenance management systems and data analysis tools
