Responsibilities
Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties to support the Health Information Management Division (HIMD).
Prepare, edit, and finalize letters, memos, reports, tables, and charts according to department formatting standards.
Make travel arrangements, prepare travel expense claims, and arrange conference or training rooms for meetings.
Assist with completion of personnel forms, order/maintain supplies, and distribute incoming/outgoing mail.
Work diplomatically with staff at all levels in a fast-paced work environment.

Required
Excellent communication skills
Excellent typing, word processing, and automated spreadsheet skills
Thorough knowledge of Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) office procedures
Ability to work diplomatically with staff at all levels in a fast-paced work environment
Valid typing certificate confirming ability to meet the minimum typing speed
Review the education and experience minimum qualifications (MQ’s) of the Office Technician (Typing)
Complete the statement of qualifications and the state application
Submit application package with all required documents
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678
Resume
Ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications
Successful completion of the Office Technician (typing) Exam
Preferred
Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment to carry out assigned tasks
Excellent computer, proofreading, and communication skills
Good grammar and an eye for detail
