Responsibilities

Respond to and address guest repair requests.

Communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.

Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen tools and equipment.

Inspect tools, equipment, or machines visually.

Transport equipment (e.g., tools, radio).

Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all general service keys for buildings.

Maintain maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed.

Communicate daily activities and issues to employees of other shifts using appropriate communication programs and standards.

Demonstrate or acquire basic knowledge in categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, plumbing, mechanical, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.

Prepare and paint surfaces, make minor repairs to walls and woodwork, replace light bulbs and air conditioner filters, and thoroughly clean and paint or repair areas.

Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., unclog toilets and drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuums, internet devices, replace switches and outlets, and other items in guest rooms.

Program televisions and perform general maintenance and inventory tasks related to engineering.

Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.

Perform repairs in indoor and outdoor gardens in addition to outdoor garden irrigation systems.

Demonstrate basic knowledge in computer operation including entering schedules into the air regulation system and changing temperatures.
