Responsibilities

Design, detail, and implement molding process and equipment solutions to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost effectiveness of production lines.

Develop molds, tooling, fixtures, and equipment optimizing productivity, maintainability, and cost using molding and plastics knowledge.

Perform mold tool qualifications, mold process characterization studies, and molding process qualifications based on scientific molding principles.

Create engineering drawings, equipment qualifications, and process instructions; troubleshoot molding machine, process, tool, and part issues using scientific molding tools.

Collaborate with various stakeholders to evaluate and influence designs and processes for manufacturability and cost reduction.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or related technical field

7+ years of progressive engineering and/or technically focused roles and experiences

Strong technical and problem-solving foundation

Training and certifications in problem-solving and project management methodologies such as 6-Sigma (green belt as a minimum, black belt preferred), 8D, RCA, 5-Why, Ishikawa (Fish Bone), Kepner-Tregoe, PMP

Ability to lead team activities and act as a coach for other less experienced associates

Well-developed written and oral communication skills

Positive, can-do attitude with an underlying belief that failure is not an option
