Responsibilities

Perform front end web development using modern techniques and frameworks like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript

Develop and consume web-based RESTful APIs

Work in team environments using methodologies like Scrum and Lean

Ensure Section 508 Compliance

Research and learn new programming tools and techniques

Create web layouts from static images

Create views and templates in full-stack frameworks like Rails, Express, or Django

Required

Knowledge and experience in front end web development tools, techniques, and methods for user-facing interfaces

Experience in working on new and existing micro-sites, landing pages, and templates

Expertise in programming languages such as HTML5, W3C, and CSS3

Minimum of four (4) years of experience in front end web development tools, techniques, and methods for user-facing interfaces

Possession of a bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field

Preferred

Proficient writing and content creation skills for websites

Familiarity with best practices for web content & design (Accessibility [WCAG], SEO, responsiveness across devices, UX, etc.)

Ability to handle multiple projects/deadlines and prioritize accordingly

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

Two years in the past four years with experience developing and maintaining WordPress websites

Two years in the past four years with experience in using Google analytics and other means to track website visits and impressions

One year of experience with photo editing software (BONUS if they can edit video/audio as well using Adobe Creative Suite)

Candidate is required to pass the live scan. California residents only.

Position is 100% working in-house at DMH headquarters within the Public Information Office on the 18th floor, located at 510 S. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90020
