Responsibilities
Guide, influence, and represent contributions to open source security projects by defining and prioritizing upstream open source security strategy and contributions.
Anticipate unknown or unmet end user needs in cooperation with internal teams, partners, and the open source security community.
Influence others to drive business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple open source security efforts across Microsoft.
Collaborate with first party (1P) teams to measure and report on the business impact of open source security contributions on stakeholders across all cloud native projects.
Identify data-informed, short-term, and long-term investment opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and prioritize investments in consultation with cross-functional partners for multiple security feature areas.
Partner with community marketing teams by building marketing and roll-out plans, as well as leading the creation of customer support plans.

Required
Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience
2+ years experience with the cloud native technology stack including Kubernetes
2+ years in an open source security leadership role
2+ years experience with writing, releasing, and/or governing open source security software in a multi-vendor foundation context
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management OR software development OR equivalent experience
Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
