Responsibilities

Setting up and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, including scaling and upgrading.

Implementing monitoring and alerting systems to track the health and performance of the clusters.

Creating and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate application deployment.

Managing resource allocation and optimizing resource usage to ensure efficient operation of the cluster.

Ensuring the Kubernetes infrastructure can scale based on application demand.

Diagnosing and resolving issues related to the Kubernetes environment and deployed applications.

Analyzing and tuning the performance of the cluster and applications.

Required

Extensive experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms, including networking, security, and service management.

Deep understanding of microservices design patterns, service discovery mechanisms, API gateways, and distributed tracing.

Expertise in tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, monitor service mesh performance and troubleshoot issues.

Knowledge of zero-trust security principles, authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g. SSO, SAML, OAuth2.0), load balancers, firewalls, DMZ, and encryption technologies and related best practices for service mesh integration.

Understanding of SRE principles and experience applying them to service mesh environments for reliability and performance optimization.

Must have expertise in Unix shell scripting and at least one more other common scripting/automation languages/environments like JavaScript, Perl, Ansible, etc.

Deep Experience in Java or .NET microservices and necessary skills in refactoring pipelines to 12 Factor methodologies.
