Responsibilities

Monitoring and Alerting: Help implement and maintain robust monitoring solutions using Datadog to proactively identify and address potential issues before they impact users.
Incident Response: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enact incident response plans, participate in incident resolution, and conduct post-incident reviews to prevent future occurrences.
Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and internal tools to streamline operational tasks and enhance system reliability.
Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and identify areas for improvement in the React and Ruby components of our applications.
Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to system architecture, configurations, and reliability best practices.
System Reliability: Work on efforts to enhance the reliability and performance of our application and systems, ensuring optimal uptime and minimal disruptions.
Infrastructure Optimization: Work closely with the development and platform engineering teams to optimize the infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability and efficiency.

Required

Experience with React, Ruby, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git, and Ansible
Experience with monitoring solutions using Datadog
Experience in incident response, including participating in incident resolution and post-incident reviews
Experience in developing and implementing automation scripts and internal tools
Experience in performance analysis and identifying areas for improvement in React and Ruby components
Experience in creating and maintaining documentation related to system architecture, configurations, and reliability best practices
Experience in enhancing the reliability and performance of applications and systems
Experience in optimizing infrastructure on AWS for scalability and efficiency
Commitment to modern engineering practices and a collaborative mindset
Focus on efficient delivery and streamlining incident processes
Problem-solving skills
Good customer skills for client-facing work and problem-solving

Preferred

Experience with Ruby scripting
Experience with SLOs (Service Level Objectives)
