Responsibilities
Experience leading & mentoring junior engineers
Detailed design of new substation layouts using electrical schematics, bill of materials and equipment specifications.
Experience preparing substation design calculations such as bus sizing, power loading, DC loading, lighting and cable sizing.
Understanding of NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
Interpreting vendor information to provide design deliverables
Ability to lead a large portion or the entirety of a substation design project

Required
7+ years utility substation design experience (15kV through to 500kV)
Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on high voltage and power distribution systems
Candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for sponsorship
Strong communication skills to co-ordinate with project engineers, designers and client representatives
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license
10+ years of substation engineering experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD (2016 or newer) software
Proficiency with MicroStation (V8 or newer)
Proficiency with CDEGS & grounding calculations
