Responsibilities

Develop and manage all firmware and software development for Electrify America charging systems.
Manage industry-leading Vehicle to Charger communication, including implementing new standards like ISO 15118-20 and bidirectional charging.
Oversee all firmware/software developmental tasks for vendors of charging systems throughout the product life cycle.
Define and execute Electrify America’s firmware/software roadmap to maintain technical leadership.
Build an organizational structure to support hiring and onboarding experts in firmware and software development.
Identify key elements of charging system firmware/software for knowledge development and recruitment.
Develop intellectual property in relevant areas for use in Electrify America’s charging solutions.
Represent charger firmware and software internally and externally to business partners.
Provide technical perspective for partnerships with key stakeholders.
Manage the Charger FW/SW Development team, resources, and budget.
Report to the Sr. Director System Architecture and Engineering and Executive Management.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Other bachelor’s degree with strong, proven technical expertise
10-13 years of experience
Comprehensive understanding of charging technology and standards
Experience in Software and FW Development
Ability to analyze and present data to create easy to interpret and convincing executive results
Comfortable working with tight deadlines; must be proactive and able to multi-task.
KPI development and management
Experience in leading outside vendors.
Experience in Technology scouting
Experience managing the development of FW/SW Functions from concept through Requirements to implementation and Verification

Preferred

Master's Degree in engineering
Strong knowledge and understanding of the electric vehicle and automotive OEM industry
Comprehensive understanding of mobility services
Strong knowledge of utility and Energy Services
Comprehensive knowledge of electric vehicle technology
Professional Network in the electric vehicle industry sector
Experienced in writing technical contracts
Experienced in negotiating technical contracts
Some domestic travel may be required
