Responsibilities

Provide process design support for production areas.

Initiate suggestions for plant improvements with respect to process to improve safety, capacity and/or cost.

Conduct engineering studies and evaluates new equipment.

Provide technical input for safety reviews and HAZOPs.

Provide technical input to equipment design and sizing.

Investigate and develops tests to optimize process conditions.

Provide technical support during outages and catalyst regeneration/changes.

Provide out-of-hours call-out coverage.

Required

Minimum 5-10 years of Process Engineering experience.

Basic Chemical Engineering knowledge.

Ability to perform standard chemical engineering calculations, e.g., fluid flow, pressure drop in piping, relief valve, rupture disc sizing, distillation calculations, reaction calculations, material and energy balance calculations, physical property calculations, heat exchanger sizing calculations.

Proficient in using spreadsheet software.

Provide a highly hazardous production area with technically sound advice and ability to provide basic engineering designs.

Must be able to communicate effectively to all departments and all levels.

General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-based software.

Knowledge in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Safeguarding.

8-10 years of production experience.

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
