Responsibilities
Performs metallurgical tests on various metals and accurately documents test results.
Interprets and follows part drawings, specifications, and instructions.
Conducts various types of metallographic testing including grain size, microstructure, surface contamination, and more.
Performs routine and non-routine metallurgical analyses using light optical microscopy with minimal supervision.
Interprets specifications, procedures, and engineering drawings.
Operates specimen preparation equipment, microscopes, hardness testers, and scanning electron microscope.
Provides guidance to junior analysts and resolves questions or issues.
Acquires practical testing certifications such as GE E50TF133 grain size evaluation.
Collaborates with other departments and customers.

Required
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university, and 5+ years of experience
Computer skills required: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Laboratory Management Systems and Software
Other skills required: Mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment, ability to multi-task and work intermittently in an up-tempo environment
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
Preferred
Acquired practical testing certifications such as GE E50TF133 grain size evaluation, certified welding inspection (CWI), etc.
