Responsibilities
All assigned substation projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution).
In the conceptual phase, work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to support engineering requirements and scope with the Development Group.
Training, due diligence, and technical oversight of external engineers of record (EOR) for all assigned substation projects.
Securing engineering consulting resources from approved suppliers through NEER’s Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group.
Coordinate with project stakeholders to develop and secure a substation site, support engineering updates, data, and permits necessary for design and construction.
Competitively source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services.
Coordinate with other groups to ensure successful E&C substation projects.
Support Transmission Services during review of interconnection documentation and ensure compliance with ISO requirements.
Manage project material orders, assist ISC with substation project creation, review, and approval.
Support E&C Estimating with template updates, technical support, and scope modifications.
Collaborate with project engineering resources to determine priorities, work plans, and lines of demarcation.
Implement projects in accordance with department processes, procedures, industry standards, and policies.
Support project commissioning activities and legal matters.
Collaborate with component OEMs to enhance their designs.
Ensure project deliverables meet specific off-taker requirements.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
5 years experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred.
Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
Some travel required within North America.
Preferred
PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
