Responsibilities
Lead and support the engineering activities for large scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, conduct layout review and 2D drawing creation.
Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
Create part specification requirements and BOM.
Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
Perform cost analysis, strength calculations and material selection.
Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve product and/or processes.
Search new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs
Travel to client sites required

Required
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years of experience designing Automotive systems
Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing
Experience in Automotive domain designing various components is required
Experience in Packaging, Layout studies, Concept proposals and cost impacts
Experience using Catia V5/V6 to create 3-D models and 2D drawings is required
Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) & DFA (Desing for Assembly) is required
The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group setting, including essential technical guidance to support Senior Management
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in MS office
