Responsibilities

Orchestrating and facilitating initiatives to enhance university connections and collaborations with partners across North Carolina.
Managing campus-wide initiatives with a focus on the annual Tar Heel Bus Tour and documenting engaged projects and partnerships.
Spearheading the planning and execution of the annual Tar Heel Bus Tour, liaising with stakeholders, and showcasing university efforts.
Overseeing and managing the documentation of the university's engagement initiatives across North Carolina.

Required

Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity or comparable background in independent academic or instructional activities, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. This experience may be related to the direction/oversight of programs that focus the academic and research resources of a higher education institution towards community or regional issues.
Experience in higher education, human/social services or related field
Knowledge and experience in program planning and project management
Ability to work some evening and weekend hours, especially for events such as the Tar Heel Bus Tour
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Demonstrated experience working as an effective team member
Ability to independently plan, manage and meet deadlines for multiple projects with minimal supervision and a positive attitude
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people and organizations and to keep leadership and staff well-informed of project progress and changes

Preferred

Master’s degree in higher education, human/social services or related field
Experience with university/community engagement, including teaching, scholarship and service
Knowledge of current practices and trends in community engagement/public service in higher education
Knowledge of the University of North Carolina and other higher education institutions and an appreciation of the role of public service and engagement within a university
