Responsibilities
Database Design: Design and implement database solutions, including data models, schemas, and architecture, to meet business requirements and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Database Development: Develop and maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, and functions, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and performance.
Performance Optimization: Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques, ensuring scalability and responsiveness for critical applications.
Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into the database, ensuring data consistency, quality, and completeness throughout the data lifecycle.
Data Migration: Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss while maintaining data integrity and security.
Security and Compliance: Implement database security controls and data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitoring and Alerting: Implement monitoring and alerting systems to track database performance and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and data loss.
Documentation and Best Practices: Document database design, processes, and best practices, providing clear and comprehensive documentation to facilitate understanding and collaboration among team members.
Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand requirements and deliver database solutions that meet business needs.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor junior developers, share expertise and best practices in database development, and facilitate knowledge sharing sessions within the team.

Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in database development, focusing on designing, building, and optimizing database solutions.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or similar.
Strong understanding of database design principles and techniques, with experience in data modeling and schema implementation.
Experience with performance optimization techniques including indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of database security, data governance, and regulatory compliance.
Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and optimize system performance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively working in cross-functional teams and explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
