Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative supervision over office staff, assign and review workloads, and ensure program objectives are met.
Review, interpret, and report on grant allocations, write and apply for grants, and design policies for program effectiveness and legal compliance.
Analyze data to identify problems, develop recommendations for improvement, and prepare reports with findings and conclusions.
Consult with government officials and agencies on legislative and program issues, provide management to program staff, and oversee training needs.
Develop and recommend new policies and procedures, represent the department at meetings, and establish cooperative relationships with community groups.
Counsel subordinates on work performance, attend internal meetings, and develop operational guidelines based on laws and regulations.

Required

Specialized Experience in a related field
Knowledge of Federal and District of Columbia laws
Ability to provide technical and administrative supervision
Experience in grant allocation, application, and reporting
Ability to design, write, evaluate, and modify policies
Analytical skills to identify problems and develop recommendations
Consultation skills with government officials, civic bodies, and agencies
Experience in developing and implementing program policies and plans
Training and counseling skills for staff development
Ability to interpret and prepare reports based on statistical data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of program and administrative policies and procedures
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with community groups and organizations
