Responsibilities

Developing plans, specifications, and estimates for design services, including traffic signal design, maintenance of traffic, detours, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and ITS devices complying with various standards and guidelines.
Experience with traffic modeling, simulation, and analysis for traffic engineering studies, including safety, multi-modal accessibility, freeway, managed lanes, and arterial traffic operations.

Required

BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline or higher education.
Professional Engineer License in Virginia, Maryland, DC, and Delaware, or ability to obtain it within six months. Additionally, PTOE, RSP, and IMSA certifications are desirable.
6+ years of design experience for traffic signals, signing, pavement marking, lighting, and ITS devices.
Coursework or training in Traffic Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning, Geometric Design, Traffic Signal Systems, and ITS Systems Engineering
Proficiency in MicroStation, GuideSIGN, AGi32, BlueBeam, Microsoft Office
Experience using Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, ISATe, IHSDM, ArcGIS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory and management experience and skills mentoring and training lower-level engineers

Preferred

Active participation in ITE, ASCE, ASHE, TRB, or NCUTCD is desirable.
