Responsibilities

Build a foundational knowledge base to understand Lord Abbett investment philosophies and processes across all asset classes.

Apply intellectual curiosity to analyze portfolios, identify sources of performance, and generate thoughtful inquiries.

Lead performance attribution discussions and engage with investors constructively challenging their views with an independent perspective.

Manage large, complex data sets to generate insights using strong technical and quantitative capabilities.

Provide product-specific insights and analysis to support other functions within the firm.

Collaborate with internal teams to enhance foundational infrastructure and design informative attribution analyses for Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts.

Educate Client Services teams on interpretation of results and produce informative analyst attribution reports.

Required

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or similar, or STEM field with relevant finance experience

5+ years’ experience doing portfolio analysis or similar

Strong intellectual curiosity and be self-driven, detail-oriented, and hands-on

Understanding of performance attribution methodologies for fixed income and equities

Knowledge of and comfort with extracting data from SQL databases

Demonstrated experience with programming languages, preferably Python with pandas for analyzing data sets

Extensive experience using portfolio management and analysis tools – particularly Bloomberg PORT, and FactSet PA

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to constructively engage Portfolio Managers and Research Analysts as well as members of Client Services teams

Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment with tight deadlines

Collaborative, team-first attitude; growth mindset

Preferred

CFA, CIPM advantageous but not mandatory
