Responsibilities

Manage four full-time and one part-time staff members.
Lead the College Achievement Program towards achieving goals with attention to equity in scholar outcomes.
Oversee all program operations of high school programming to ensure student progress.
Create and update CAP after-school program teaching staff schedule.
Oversee advising for all high school scholars, including college counseling and enrollment process.
Develop and maintain the annual high school program calendar.
Lead planning and oversight of social and community events for CAP scholars, families, and volunteers.
Manage planning and execution of activities promoting college knowledge and career exposure.
Develop and maintain relationships with high schools attended by SMART scholars and external organizations.
Identify intervention resources and behavior support strategies for scholars and families.
Manage alternative entry recruitment process for high school scholars.
Manage writing and implementation of after-school program curriculum for high school scholars.
Ensure coherence of SMART curriculum delivery and collaborate with the middle school program manager.
Maintain records of all workshops and incorporate best practices into curriculum.
Collaborate with the leadership team to develop professional development opportunities for staff.
Ensure relevant data is collected and evaluate scholar needs for appropriate interventions.
Support other program components as needed and participate in organization-wide events.
Participate in cross-department committees and teams.
Other duties and special projects as needed.

Required

Bachelor’s degree required.
At least five years of professional post-college experience, including at least three years of experience in youth development.
At least one year of direct management experience is required.
Strong passion for issues of educational equity for students from underserved communities.
Deep understanding of the challenges faced by students of color and students who will be first generation college graduates.
A demonstrated understanding of best practices in providing social, emotional, and academic support to students, especially students from under-resourced backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including goal-setting, coaching, and achieving team objectives.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to take initiative, capacity to work independently and in a team.
Detail-oriented, excellent multi-tasker, with strong organizational skills.
Great team player with a strong conviction in the power of collaboration in a small staff setting.

Preferred

Demonstrated experience with college prep advising and the college admissions process preferred.
