Responsibilities
Improve the scalability and reliability of Boomi’s systems in production.
Automate the provisioning and maintenance of Boomi’s infrastructure.
Detect, remediate, and report on production incidents to ensure service level agreements and objectives are defined and met.
Participate in on-call rotation to ensure coverage for planned/unplanned events.
Engage with other Engineering teams to implement processes, identify improvements, and drive consistent results.
Work with Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and Engineering counterparts to drive Disaster Recovery exercises, game days, training, and other response readiness efforts.
Collaborate with Service Engineering teams to build and automate tooling, implement best practices on Observability, and manage the Boomi services in production.
Work independently with a minimal level of guidance from technical leadership.

Required
Master’s degree (or a foreign equivalent) in Engineering Management, Computer Science, Digital Science, or a related field of study and two (2) years of experience in Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation
Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree (or a foreign equivalent) in Engineering Management, Computer Science, Digital Science, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation
Two (2) years of experience working on site reliability to support large scale software systems in production
Experience using services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Fargate, and RDS
Experience automating tasks using Python, Ansible, cloud formation, and Terraform for IaC
Experience creating Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) including base/golden images using Amazon Linux and RHEL
Experience using Azure, Google Cloud Platform Infrastructure, or AWS components
Experience developing Ansible playbooks and automation for Infrastructure as code using Terraform and Cloud Formation Templates
Experience defining, measuring, and improving Reliability Metrics using Service Level Objectives, Service Level Indicators, and Error budgets
Experience implementing observability practices including monitoring, logging, and Distributed Tracing using Splunk and New Relic
Experience using dashboards and creating them from scratch
Experience conducting and automating DR exercises in AWS cloud to validate Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
Experience designing and implementing APIs for use by internal teams
Experience with alerting as code and dashboarding as code
Experience using Amazon Systems Manager and Patch Manager
