Responsibilities

Engage during the proposal phase, to describe design quality processes and procedures in response to RFP requirement

Establish, implement, and maintain a Design Quality Assurance System (DQAS) commensurate with the Project requirements and complexity of the Project

Provide training of design personnel to ensure awareness of quality procedures and specific responsibilities in the QC process

Provide direction to the design team and subconsultants on the DQAS when questions arise or during the review of QC documentation

Represent the Design Team on design quality issues at meetings with the Client, third parties, and construction staff

Perform Auditing/Surveillance of planning and design functions at scheduled intervals to assess conformance with the Contract requirements, as applicable

Conduct surveillance of design submittals to confirm the documents are in substantial compliance with the DQA

Determine whether a Corrective Action is necessary to bring awareness of design quality issues to the project manager and Design Team
