Responsibilities
Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet deadlines. Manage the schedule critical path and ensure steps are taken to keep projects on track.
Create software and hardware project budgets and ensure projects adhere to budget.
Drive consistent requirements, compliance, testing, and troubleshooting of projects in all stages of development.
Manage project change requests per established processes.
Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project deliverables.
Manage product release content with key stakeholders and other product managers.
Define development milestones including entry and exit criteria.
Manage schedule interdependencies with all project teams.
Define, manage, and mitigate project risks.
Present regular project status reports/updates to executive management.
Track schedules and resources for assigned projects.
Monitor and enhance software development, troubleshooting, and QA process.
Liaise between company, customer, and third parties.
Define the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
Work with functional managers for allocation of staff to your team.
Determine and assess the need for additional staff/consultants and make the appropriate recruitments.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Keep abreast of technical and product development trends in the evolving medical device space.
Scrum Facilitation: Lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. Ensure these meetings are effective, time-boxed, and focused on achieving sprint goals.
Coaching and Mentoring: Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to the Scrum Team members and stakeholders in Agile principles and Scrum practices. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Leadership: Act as a leader, supporting the Scrum Team by removing impediments and protecting them from external disruptions, allowing them to focus on delivering value.
Product Backlog Management: Collaborate with the Product Management and development teams to manage the product backlog, ensure it is prioritized, refined, and well-understood by the team. Help the team estimate and plan work effectively.
Team Empowerment: Empower development team members to make decisions and take ownership of their work. Encourage self-organization and autonomy.
Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Facilitate sprint retrospectives to identify and address areas for enhancement.
Conflict Resolution: Mediate and resolve conflicts within the team and with external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and positive environment.
Communication: Ensure effective communication within the team and with stakeholders. Keep the team informed about project progress and impediments.
Metrics and Reporting: Collect and analyze Agile metrics to track team performance, identify bottlenecks, and suggest improvements.
Scrum Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest Scrum and Agile best practices, and help the team apply them effectively.

Required
University degree in the field of business administration, engineering, information systems, or a combination of equivalent work experience and education.
5-10 years of managing projects.
Proven experience as a Scrum Master in Agile software development projects, 4-6 years of experience in an Agile software project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
Significant experience with IEC 62304 for medical device software compliance is highly desired.
Strong familiarity with Agile project management software tools (e.g. Atlassian tools, Microsoft Project, etc.)
Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
Competence with office software applications (e.g. MS Office 365, Google office apps).
Experience of working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
Preferred
PMI Certification in PMP or PgMP is desired.
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification is preferred.
Customer service skills an asset.
Additional time outside of normal working hours may be required in meet project deadlines.
Some travel may be required for the purpose of meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/management.
