Responsibilities

Monitoring ETL processes and reports as needed

Troubleshooting failures in the production environment

Resolving issues and restarting production processes promptly

Collaborating with internal business partners to address reported problems

Providing detailed updates on work assignments to managers

Required

Minimum of 4+ years post qualification experience in a software engineering role with exposure to the full SDLC (Software and product Development Life Cycle), preferably on enterprise scale systems

Strong Microsoft BI skills (Microsoft stack experience as a very basic minimum)

Experience with Business Intelligence and reporting tools such as Business Objects, Crystal or LOGIXML

Experience with ETL tools such as PowerCenter Informatica

Job scheduling experience (Autosys, Control M)

Experience of working in the financial services sector (particularly insurance, ideally group benefits)

AWS Cloud experience desirable but not essential (EC2, EMR, S3, Kinesis, Dynamo, API (Application Programming Interface) Gateway & LAMDA)

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience

Ability to Communicate effectively with business partners

Technical knowledge of ETL processes, reporting tools, etc.

Ability to solve technical problems

Preferred

Technically minded problem solver

Basic engineering, system administration and software development (programming) foundation

Ability to apply basic testing skills, tools/frameworks, techniques, processes and principles to software solutions in support of defect management and reporting

Basic knowledge of performance testing coding best practices, and load and performance testing

Familiarity with and ability to utilize multiple software development methodologies, processes, development best practices and DevOps principles
