Responsibilities

Develop project scopes, one-line diagrams, and estimates for substation projects

Review substation construction drawings for compliance with codes and standards

Engineer lightning protection, grounding, and equipment replacement for substations

Make corrections to drawings and documentation

Verify proper use of equipment and material according to standards

Coordinate work activities and provide training to junior engineers

Initiate corrective action when project objectives are not met

Travel to project sites for information gathering and site visits

SubstationsEngineering ProjectsScopingEstimatingOrdering MaterialsPE License

Required

Five to eight years of experience in utilities working with substations

Five to eight years of experience completing engineering projects from start to finish

Five to eight years of experience scoping, estimating, and ordering materials for substations

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution

A PE License is required

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution will count toward years of experience
