Responsibilities

Design, implement, and operate critical and scalable services for media uploads, management, replication, and delivery within Snap

Collaborate across teams to understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver innovative solutions

Test and debug work for high quality, advocating for best practices in availability, scalability, and cost management

Propose long-term architectural improvements and lead the team in realizing the tech vision

Lead incident or hotfix investigations and resolutions, ensuring operational excellence

Required

BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience

11+ years of software development experience

Experience with Content Delivery Network and Cloud provider network architecture

Experience with video transcoding, ffmpeg or hevc/av1 codec

Experience with video bitrate control
