Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical tasks and project delivery for water and transportation market projects such as dams, levees, treatment plants, bridges, and related infrastructure projects.

Mentor less experienced staff, lead projects in geotechnical data collection programs, analyses, preparation of reports, and development of contract documents.

Follow projects from concept development through construction phase, interact with clients, support business development efforts, and assist in advancing technical capabilities.

Required

Exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing for soil and rock

Experience with design, construction, and inspection of water and transportation market projects

Design of typical geotechnical structures, such as shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and ground improvement

An understanding of earthquake hazard evaluations, including liquefaction assessments, site-specific ground response analyses, and development of design spectra

Preparation of technical reports

Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SETTLE3D, LPILE, SLIDE or SLOPE/W, MATHCAD, FB-Multipier, PLAXIS, and FLAC

Preparation of design drawings and specifications

B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering

M.S/Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering

15 years of geotechnical consulting experience with a focus on water and transportation market or related infrastructure projects

PE license
