Responsibilities
Work with NYSED executive leadership team and program office staff to develop a detailed project workplan, including timelines, to be approved by P12 management;
Collaborate with NYSED-identified stakeholder groups to obtain input and provide updates about project;
Develop and manage the process for submitting an RFP to determine a vendor for project;
Coordinate, oversee, and monitor the contract between NYSED and the identified vendor and engage in consistent communication with vendor;
Collaborate on the creation and oversight of an advisory council to support this project;
Collaborate closely with other offices at NYSED including the Office of Standards and Instructional Programs to ensure alignment with learning standards and best practices in instructional strategies;
Oversee the vendor-led development of resources focused on religious acceptance and understanding, linking these resources directly to the learning standards;
Oversee the vendor-led development of civics professional development resources, guidance, and turnkey materials to support civics education;
Oversee the development of culturally responsive-sustaining education resources including those focused on the state’s shared history of diversity, equity, and inclusion;
Oversee the publication of an online resource library to promote these resources in relation to the state’s learning standards;
Prepare reports regarding updates and correspondence for management;
Oversee the roll-out of this project to ensure statewide understanding and implementation; and
Collaborate with NYSED staff in the development of a presentation on project’s work for the Board of Regents.

Required
Bachelor's degree or higher
Five years of experience in teaching or leading educational initiatives utilizing a strong diversity, equity, and inclusion lens, including culturally responsive strategies
J.D. or master’s degree may substitute for one year of specialized experience
Preferred
Two years of experience at the supervisory level
