Responsibilities

Performs difficult and very complex field engineering assignments involving the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of a construction project.

Maintains quality assurance to confirm that the installation of work is in accordance with plans, specifications, and industry standards.

Supervises construction engineering work, provides technical expertise, and supervises Construction Inspectors.

Monitors and coordinates all contractors' activities, collaborates with construction management to ensure safety, and engages in safe work practices.

Establishes and maintains liaison with the discipline design engineering staff, reviews and interprets design drawings and specifications, and provides resolution for technical engineering problems.

Develops construction schedules, monitors progress, ensures timely material procurement, and organizes data for project turnover and report.

Initiates and maintains records, interfaces with the client and upper-level management.

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field, or equivalent construction related work experience, as well as 4+ years of experience in field construction is required

Experience in the construction of large civil/transportation projects

Requires a comprehensive knowledge of engineering and construction related processes, as well as industry practices

Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, a familiarity with CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction, and the proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
