Responsibilities

Schedule and conduct meetings with customer representatives to understand their requirements and capture those requirements accurately for use in downstream phases of the software development life cycle.

Identify appropriate technologies for the solution given the constraints of the client environment.

Propose architectures that are cost-effective and in line with Ellucian’s desired product direction.

Provide project guidance and coordination with offshore resources to complete projects on time and within budget constraints.

Prepare concise technical documents that accurately describe project requirements and specifications for delivery.

Work with a dynamic team of developers and other peers to Architect, build, and test the processes according to the prepared specifications.

Prepare accurate and detailed estimates for integrations and sales proposals.

Demonstrate aptitude in problem-solving techniques.

Deconstruct complex technical structures to perform root cause analysis in troubleshooting application and integration issues.

Stay current with Ellucian applications.

Provide mentorship to junior developers and assist other Professional Services teams.

Have an aptitude for learning new technologies with an eagerness to improve the practice constantly.

Required

5+ years of experience working with application development frameworks e.g.: NodeJS React.js, Lambda etc.

5+ years experience in web service development and integration patterns using REST or SOAP, JMS messaging, Request/Reply, and Publish /Subscriber models.

2+ years Complex integration architecture and design experience with working experience and knowledge on at least one ESB integration platform (MuleSoft ESB, Oracle SOA/OSB, IBM Websphere ESB, Microsoft Biztalk)

Good SOA architecture understanding. Hands-on experience designing and developing inbound and outbound integration interfaces with API

Web services (REST and SOAP service development skills)

Knowledge and experience with XML-related technologies (XML, XSD etc)

Knowledge and experience in HTTP, REST, SOAP, JSON technologies

Knowledge and experience of databases (SQL)

Knowledge and experience with Software Version Control systems: GIT, SVN etc.

Knowledge and experience with CI/CD processes and tools

Strong communication experience leading complex projects

Preferred

Knowledge and experience with team collaboration platforms, e.g. AzureDevOps, and strong problem-solving and communication skills Lambda, CloudWatch, Document DB, ECS, and Terraform

Knowledge of higher education ERPs like Banner and Colleague or any products leading integrations in higher education business
