Operational Excellence: Lead mission-critical operations for fiber network, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and efficiency. Turn operational hurdles into product improvements.

Rapid Expansion: Streamlining network deployments by contributing to cutting-edge automation for rapid and efficient infrastructure expansion.

Enhance Monitoring: Swiftly diagnosing and resolving network issues with minimal customer impact, backed by meticulous post-incident analysis as part of on-call responsibilities.

Customer-First Approach: Embody and promote a customer-first mentality within the team, ensuring all projects and operations enhance customer satisfaction and service quality.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business partners and other teams across Azure to ensure 24x7 coverage of the operations of our dark fiber assets.

Process and Automation: Relentlessly drive process and automation improvements to improve network quality and efficiency.

Required

9+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred

15+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 12+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation

3+ years experience delivering network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network

1+ year(s) experience developing Cloud Network Engineering IC5
