Responsibilities
Conduct research via primary and secondary sources (including phone interviews, internet searches, and in-depth reading)
Create clear, concise, unbiased, data-driven, and action-oriented content for topically focused reports, blogs, webinars, and in-person events
Respond to research requests from utility members, often on a tight deadline
Present or copresent research findings at virtual and in-person events
Think critically to identify trends, best practices, and insights to help clients better serve and engage with their customers
Build subject matter expertise in areas like corporate communications, marketing, customer experience, contact centers, digital self-service channels, or utility key account management
Act as a supportive, collaborative member of the Customer Engagement Solutions team

Required
Bachelor’s degree required
At least five years of professional experience researching or working in relevant topical areas
Ability to synthesize information to create actionable, succinct data-driven stories
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills, including the ability to set clear expectations, communicate regularly with internal and external clients regarding project milestones and status, deliver on established deadlines, and share research results in an easy-to-understand manner
Exceptional research, analytical, writing, document preparation, and presentation creation skills
Ability to work independently, with a sense of urgency, creativity, and decisiveness in an environment with tight deadlines and abstract work products
Preferred
Demonstrated interest in energy efficiency, water efficiency, or sustainability
Experience in contact center operations, customer experience, account management, marketing and communications, and/or market research
Experience working in or with electric, gas, dual-fuel, or water utilities
