Responsibilities
Focus on business applications of customer loyalty, marketing campaigns, personalization, digital, and services through understanding and driving customer behavior with a combination of production-grade models, reports, and dashboards using big data analytics, advanced statistics, machine learning, deep learning, and experimentation.
Work towards deepening the understanding of customers and improving the maturity of personalization at PetSmart through the iterative development of segmentation, customer journey, and recommender models across various channels including digital, email, direct mail, and in-store.
Assist in the development of the PetSmart Data Science Platform to establish best practices and drive continuous improvement in data science infrastructure, data management, experimentation, and workflow; transform insights and algorithms into automated data products.
Drive growth in the digital business through online machine learning models such as recommender engines and search optimization; build proof of concepts and exploratory analyses to test new methodologies, experimental designs, and analyses.
Collaborate with PetSmart Information Systems, Data Engineering, and Marketing Operations teams to develop cross-functional capabilities to improve customer experience and drive value; develop insightful and condensed visualizations out of complex analytics and provide actionable recommendations for various business teams.

Required
Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Quantitative Social Science, or related field
Two (2) years of related experience
Experience with SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Databricks, Spark, and GitHub
Experience in developing descriptive, predictive and causal analysis, linear, logistic, and tree-based regression, and customer behavioral analytics
Experience in machine learning including supervised and unsupervised learning, recommendation systems, ML pipeline, and ML Operations
Experience in natural language processing techniques including deep learning powered language embedding, and natural language understanding
Experience in data processing including model assessment and selection, monitoring and diagnostic, refresh, re-training, and production
